Beta Theta Pi has undoubtedly played a big role in all of our lives, and for many of us that influence has lasted beyond our undergraduate years at UMKS. Think about your most important aspects of your life: your kids, your wife, your job, even yourself. Would any of those still be the same if you had never become a part of Beta Theta Pi at UMKS?

Del Pizzo, Ferdinand "FERD" Class of 1958 on February 24
I have several special memories of the chapter. The first was when we got started. TAD DUKE had come to me and asked how he could start a BETA Chapter at UMKC so that he could have the same experience that he had watched his father and I have. I gave him a BETA talk, a Beta record of our songs, some Beta literature and told him, if he could find a group of men who wanted to start a chapter to call me, and I would do what I could to get a provisional Colony started. I was a VP on our 6 man BETA BOARD of the General Fraternity at the time and knew I could do that part, but really never though, I would hear from TAD again. I was surprised and thrilled when he called and put 15 men on the line telling me they wanted to start a BETA chapter. The rest is history. - kai - Ferdinand Del Pizzo, Jr. MD
